Crime Scene Deductions:Travis Alexander

Hello Humanity.I'm Ethan, I write crime related stuff and I like to ıntroduce myself in a fast way.

Before we begin I have some things to say:

-First of all , I'm not a professional who has work experience in the criminal justice field.I believe I have enought knowledge to share my view but this does not mean that I will be 100% correct.The post you're about to read is might be helpful and give you a perspective.

-If you can't look at dead bodies or feel sick when you see one.Here is your DİSCLAİMER.

Today I will be focusing on some deductions from Travis Victor Alexander's corpse and the crime scene.

Here are the 5 photos that I will be using for my deductions:

(For the deductions sake I will give some information about crime scene later.)

Lets look at the Killer's profile first:

I invite you to look at the photos for 30 seconds.You can tell many things without even knowing the terms or science.

1)Our first deduction is "This killer was really angry at our victim"

-Despite 29 stab wounds killer decided to shot the victim in the head.(This observation alone can give you this conclusion).

-Look at back of the ear on the second picture.You see a slash wound.But this killer wasn't aiming to slash his/her victim,judging by the 29 stab wounds.Therefore we can assume that killer tried to stab the victim from weird positions.If we would be dealing with a pro we wouldn't see these mistakes.So killer was in shock too.

You must be "really" angry to shot once and stab someone 29 times in shock.

(This deduction led us to believe that the killer know the victim and had a reason to be angry at him.==)Romance.Of course you can not ımmediately say this was a romance involved murder but statistics says that way.)

-That deep cut.If you already shot someone in the head or stabbed 29 times or did both you don't usually slash the throat that deep.I mean of course you can but I don't usually do that.This is a great sign of hate and psychotic personality.

Judging by the naked body and crime scene we can assume the victim was taking a shower before murderer attacked him.

This can be a ambush kill of course but since we know killer knew him we can assume Travis felt safe enought to let him/her in his house.But here's the thing.Most people would lock the door If they're having a shower.Since he didn't he must know his attacker well.I still think he would've lock the door if his father or mother was with him.This makes me believe that lover might be responsible for the homicide.

(After some investigations police will find out that he lives with his girlfriend and after autopsy we can tell he was dead atleast 4-5 days.)

Now,Here's a term:"Livor motris"

After the death,blood stops flowing.

Due to gravity blood flows down from bigger veins to smaller ones,and finally ends up in Capillaries.

Then erythrocytes dies and blood becomes red(No shit Sherlock)

Since there is no breathing and due to failure of the inner systems such as the circulatory system,

These erythrocytes loses their oxygen and blood becomes dark purple.

Since gravity still exists,blood will flow into your tissues and make them dark purple.

Livor mortis usually starts 3-5 hours after death(in some cases can be 1-2)as little lines.

These lines inosculates,after some time they create little plaques.(Usually circles or circle-like shapes.

Then after 8 hours these dark purple areas grow larger.

Now if you remember the last picture there are visible purple areas on the body:

What is the firs adjective that comes to your mind?

Gross,Awesome,Disgusting,Remarkable? No.

Irregular.

If you die lying face down livor mortis gathers in front of your body.

And the back of your body appears to be a little more pale.

But when we look at this body we can't see that.Sure we see the livor mortis but not only on the back.

And you can see left side of the back doesn't have any purple areas.

Deduction:He died on his right shoulder.

(Of course we saw the scene and we actually saw how he died but I'm here for educating purposes.)

Now let's look at the blood spatters shall we?

Now lets look at these pictures:

There is a sign of heavy bleeding on the carpet.Judging by the length and since we didn't see any heavy bleeding that can be caused from artery rupture this makes me believe that victim's neck was cut here.

Of course stabbing causes heavy bleeding but lenght of this blood spatter is showing us this was something more than that.

No carpet.We saw some signs that Travis was crawling on carpet(or someone was dragging him).(4th photo)So now we know he was attacked either in the shower or in the living room.Since we know he is naked we can assume 1st attack happened in the shower.So he was attacked first then someone dragged him outside(?)

(İf throat cutting was happened here we would've see much more blood.Keyword is lenght)

All of this looks reasonable.

But wait, what about the gun shot?

Impact of the shot creates some great amount pressure and If bullet left the body we usually see another impact.

Look at the D1 and E1:

That spatter clearly shows us there is a great amount of pressure.Judging by the other blood spatters on the sink we can assume killer dragged him here and shot him in the head.

Since there is so much blood on the sink and no one can move(crawl) after getting shot,we can assume this wasn't the first strike.We can discuss If throat cut was the first one but since we didn't find anything related to poisoning or blunt object on the body ıt's more likely that our victim was stabbed first.

Killer doesn't want him to feel pain.Killer wants him dead.Anger usually means that.

This made me believe killer ambushed him.To get a great leverage he or she wanted to attack from his back.

So I believe he was stabbed first in the back and ambushed(Leter our protagonist will find out he was right about the stabbing but he was wrong about ambush)

So what do we know:

-Stabbed 29 times(shower,First attack)

-Shot him in the head(bathroom sink)

-Cut the throat(living room)

Now there are 2 possibilites:

Stabbing,Throat cut,Shot or Stabbing,Shot,Throat cut

I say it's the first one

In almost every case of throat cut after death means psychosis.And killers usually cuts off the head.

I don't just mean killers like Ed Gein.Gangs use this method to send messages.But in this case there is no sign of that purpose.

So visualise a killer entering the bathroom,stabbing Travis.Then either drags him to living room to get rid off him or watches him crawl to living room.For some reason killer cuts his throat in the living room then drags him back to the bathroom.For some reason(Make sure he's dead?)the killer placed the head, still attached to the body, over the sink .Bang!.Then drags the body back to shower.

If you think I'm making that up because I watched too much TV... Shut up!

Seriously though,this is a common theory

There are different theories but this one seems the most logical one:

Again I'm not a professional and this is what I deduce.But when you look at the media you see tons of different ideas.I tried to be impartial and this is a reason I believe I am closer to truth than many.
