MEET THE TEAM

Professor Steed:

Hello There, and Welcome to Enigma!

I go by many names, but here you'll likely know me as Professor Steed or from my Youtube Channel "Practical Deduction" where I teach deduction in a practical setting, and often work along side Sam Parker.

As you've probably figured out, I'm a fan of Sherlock Holmes in almost any incarnation, but my other interests and passions include Star Wars, Sciences, and self improvement. I can almost always be found performing some kind of a study or experiment.

In the future I hope to unite the Deductionist community, see Deduction become a recognized field of scientific thought, and open my own detective Agency I will call Enigma.

Adeline James:

Hello:) First off, I am a practicing deductionist and one of the contributors to Enigma. Although I have known about deduction for many years, I have only focused my attention on the practice and study of deduction recently .

I’m a HUGE fan of Sherlock Holmes and this is where my interest in deduction started and grew. From the classic films with Basil Rathbone to the current BBC Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch, I’ve found myself in love with Sherlock Holmes' secret weapon: deduction. But today, I am able to study the “secret weapon” as an art and learn about the real world application it holds.

As an extrovert, people have always intrigued me, but deduction has raised that interest to another level. My other interests include: reading (mysteries, duh) writing, solving cryptograms and helping people. Through this website, I hope to share my knowledge with other like minded deductionists and guide them on their way.

SAM PARKER

I'm both a student and practitioner of the science of deduction, as well as a puzzle enthusiast and logician. I have been studying deduction for about two and half years now, and I run a YouTube channel called "Thinking Like Sherlock" on which I attempt to explain what I've learned during my study.

I've partnered with fellow deductionists Prof. Steed and Adeline James to create this site to help spread interest in deduction as a science, and to teach and inspire other aspiring Holmsian thinkers.
